Rosehill's Equality Statement
The ethos of the school supports the development of self-respect and self-esteem in all pupils, staff and the community it serves. We place a high value on diversity and treat every member of the school as an individual.
We welcome our duties under the Equality Act 2010. The school’s general duties with regard to equality are:
We recognises that certain groups in society can be disadvantaged because of unlawful discrimination they may face due to their race, sex, disability, gender reassignment, marriage or civil partnership, religion or belief, sexual orientation, age, or pregnancy and maternity. We will not discriminate against, harass or victimise any staff member, pupil, prospective pupil, or other member of the school community.
We aim to promote pupils’ spiritual, moral, social and cultural development, with special emphasis on promoting equality and diversity, and eradicating prejudicial incidents for pupils and staff.
Our school is committed to not only eliminating discrimination, but also increasing understanding and appreciation for diversity.
All staff are aware of the need for the curriculum to reflect cultural diversity and of the need to prepare pupils for life in a diverse society.
The school is committed to promoting the welfare and equality of all its staff, pupils and other members of the school community. To achieve this, the school has established the following objectives:
