Rosehill was last inspected by Ofsted on 25 and 26 of February 2025, and we received a very positive appraisal, highlighting the school as being Outstanding.
This remarkable achievement is a testament to the dedication, hard work, and unwavering commitment of our entire school community.
While our school has previously held an Outstanding grade, it is important to note that the educational framework has undergone significant changes. To receive such a prestigious grading under the current standards is a remarkable feat, showcasing our continued excellence and adaptability over many years.
The report praised pupils’ resilience, enthusiasm and admirable commitment to learning, and went on to say that “pupils are rightly proud of their school”.
It said: “Pupils of all ages thrive and are happy at Rosehill School". "The expert teaching and care that they receive enable pupils to feel safe and fulfil the school’s high expectations for them to succeed.”
“Positive, nurturing relationships are at the heart of the school". "There is a tangible culture of respect, in which everyone is valued equally”.
“The school’s calm, purposeful atmosphere supports pupils’ academic and personal development exceptionally well”.
“The school’s outstanding support for pupils’ behaviour is a strength of its provision”.
“Staff understand each pupil, and their individual needs, extremely well. Their skilled support enables pupils to develop as increasingly independent individuals".
“Rosehill is an outward-looking school”.
“Pupils have a strong voice at Rosehill. They are very well-prepared for their next steps beyond the school”.

I am delighted and hugely thankful to our amazing children, our dedicated and professional staff, the support you provide as parents and carers and the fabulous challenge and support our Governing Body have given us all. As a school with incredibly high expectations of everyone in our community, we will not stand still, and we will continue to drive forward to provide the best possible outcomes for all of our children. Above all else, what we are most pleased about is that the inspectors saw that at the heart of everything we do as a school, is the determination to ensure that every pupil achieves their full potential, regardless of their starting point, and this will remain our vision.
None of this would have been possible without the support and dedication of our incredible parents, staff, governors, and the wider school community. Your belief in our vision and tireless contributions have played an integral role in our success. Together, we have created an environment where children and young people flourish.
As Headteacher, I am filled with gratitude to the extraordinary staff and wonderful children who make our school truly special. Their commitment to excellence, boundless enthusiasm, and eagerness to learn have set the foundation for this fantastic achievement. It is their brilliance and respect that shone through during the inspection.
While we celebrate this accomplishment, I want to assure you that our ambition does not waver. We remain steadfast in our commitment to providing the best possible education for your children. Together, we will continue to push boundaries, explore new opportunities, and create an even more enriching experience for our pupils so that our motto ‘Caring about learning and learning about caring’ continues to be more than just words on a page - it is lived every day in our school.
Thank you for being an integral part of our journey, for your trust, and for standing by us. With your support, I am confident that our school will continue to flourish and inspire generations to come.
Yours sincerely,
Cheryl Steele
